Fernandes to Inter loan deal dead?
There are rumors in both the Italian and Portuguese media that Valencia midfielder Manuel Fernandes has failed a medical with Inter and that the Serie A team has canceled a potential loan deal for the 23 year old.
Fernandes suffered a broken leg in April 2009.
He re-injured the same bone in the same leg in the first preseason match of the year against ADO Den Haag. Fernandes had a hairline fracture that went unnoticed by the Valencia medical staff for weeks before finally being discovered.
In the mean time, Fernandes, Unai Emery, and Valencia Chief Medical Officer Dr. Candel got into a public shouting match at a training session when Emery accused Fernandes of not wanting to train and that Dr. Candel couldn't do his job properly if Fernadnes really was hurt, which did turn out to be the case.
Sporting Lisbon have also shown interest in signing the Portuguese internaitonal.
